Terms and conditions
Last updated: October 13, 2026.
1. Who provides the service
Summa POS (“Summa”) is offered by Irvin Ariel Madrid Castillo, an individual located in Agua Prieta, Sonora, ZIP 84269, Mexico. Contact: soporte@summapos.com.
By creating an account, installing or using Summa you accept these terms and the Privacy notice. If you use Summa on behalf of a business, you confirm that you can accept them for it.
2. The service
- Summa POS is a point-of-sale program for Windows that works without internet; your register's data lives on your computer.
- The cloud services, depending on your plan, include syncing between registers and branches, the “My business” dashboard, electronic invoicing (CFDI 4.0) and updates.
- What each plan includes (registers, branches and invoices per month) is on Pricing.
We may improve, change or remove features. If we remove something significant from a plan you already paid for, we will let you know in advance.
3. Your account
Give true information and look after your password and your registers' pairing codes. You are responsible for what is done with your account and for the users you create on your registers. If you suspect unauthorized access, write to us.
4. Trial, plans and payments
- Free trial: 15 days, one per computer. When it ends, you need a plan to keep using Summa.
- Monthly and yearly plans: charged in advance and renewed automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Prices are in Mexican pesos, VAT included.
- Lifetime: a one-time payment for a permanent license for the plan's number of registers, which sync over your local network. It includes 12 months of updates, which you can then renew every year; the cloud is a separate monthly extra. If you don't renew, your version keeps working: you just stop getting new versions.
- Charges: processed by Stripe with your card. If a renewal charge fails we let you know by email, and your registers and the cloud keep working for 7 days so you can update your payment method. If it isn't paid within that time, they are blocked until it is.
- Price changes: we will notify you at least 30 days in advance, and they apply from your next renewal.
- Invoice for your payment: if you need an invoice (CFDI), request it at soporte@summapos.com with your tax details.
5. Cancellation and refunds
- You can cancel whenever you want from “My business → My plan”. Canceling stops the next charge and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
- We don't give refunds, full or partial, for paid periods or for Lifetime: the 15-day free trial is there so you can decide before paying.
- If we charged you by mistake (for example, a duplicate charge), we will refund it.
- Nothing above limits the rights the law gives you.
6. Refer and earn
- How it works: every account has a link and a code to recommend Summa. A business counts as referred by you only if it creates its account with your link (within 30 days of opening it; if it opened links from several businesses, the first one counts) or by typing your code. Once the account exists, only Summa can link it to whoever referred it.
- What the referred business gets: a gift on its first purchase, once: 50% off the first month on a monthly plan, 10% off the first payment on a yearly plan (a free month), or 30 days of cloud when it buys Lifetime. Anything it pays after that (renewals, plan changes, extras) is charged in full.
- What you get: when the referred business completes 30 days since its first payment, with no refunds or chargebacks and without having canceled, we add a credit equal to one month of your plan; if the referred business pays for a monthly plan cheaper than yours, the credit is what it pays a month. On Lifetime you earn 30 days of cloud (added to whatever cloud you have left, and they don't expire); if you already pay the cloud add-on, you earn $199 of credit instead, usable only on the add-on or the updates renewal. If you have no plan at that moment, the reward is added when you get one.
- The credit: it is taken off your next Summa charges automatically, it can't be exchanged for money or transferred, and it expires 12 months after it is added. We email you before it expires.
- Limits: up to 12 rewards in 12 months; if you already have 12, the next business waits its turn and counts when a spot frees up, as long as it still has its plan by then. Referring yourself or another business of yours (for example, with the same computer, RFC, card or email) doesn't count, and we may reject referrals that look like abuse of the program. We may change or end the program with 30 days' notice; credit already added is honored until it expires.
7. Your page on Summa
- You can publish a page for your business at summapos.com/n/… with your catalog, your branches and your contact details. It is off until you turn it on, and it shows while your plan includes the cloud.
- You are responsible for what you publish: name, description, logo (you must have the right to use it), hours, prices and availability. Prices and availability come from what your registers sync and may not be up to date; the page tells your customers they are subject to your confirmation.
- The orders your customers put together reach you directly on WhatsApp. Summa doesn't charge for, receive or guarantee those orders: the sale is between you and your customer.
- The page's footer shows “Made with Summa POS” with your Refer and earn link.
- We may take a page down or change its address if it infringes third-party rights, is misleading or doesn't follow these terms.
8. Your data
- Your business's data is yours. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide the service, as explained in the Privacy notice.
- Your registers' data lives on your computers. Summa lets you back up each register; we recommend doing it often.
- If your plan ends, Summa stops working on your registers until you get one, but your data stays on your computer. Cloud data is kept while your account exists, and you can ask us to delete it.
- You are responsible for having your customers' permission to record their data and for giving them your own privacy notice.
9. Electronic invoicing
Summa stamps your invoices with your digital seal certificate (CSD) through a provider authorized by the SAT (PAC). You are responsible for the content of your invoices (SAT codes, taxes and your customers' data) and for your tax obligations. Summa is a tool, not tax or accounting advice. The invoices included per month depend on your plan, and stamping depends on the SAT and the PAC being available.
10. Acceptable use
Don't use Summa for illegal activities, don't try to break into it, copy it, resell it or reverse-engineer it, and don't install it on more registers than your plan allows. We may suspend an account that doesn't respect this, and we will let you know when possible.
11. Availability and support
The register works without internet. The cloud services may have interruptions or maintenance: we do what is reasonable to keep them available, but we don't guarantee a specific uptime. Support is by email only, at soporte@summapos.com.
12. Liability
Summa is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages (such as lost sales or profits, or data you didn't back up), and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the event that gives rise to it. Nothing here limits rights the law does not allow you to waive.
13. Intellectual property
The software, the brand and the website belong to Summa. We give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it while your plan is active (on Lifetime, permanent for your registers).
14. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will publish it on this page and notify you by email before they take effect. If you keep using Summa after that date, you are understood to accept them; if you don't agree, you can cancel.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Mexico. For any dispute, the parties submit to the competent courts of Agua Prieta, Sonora, without prejudice to your right to go to the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco).
